Mr. Posner's Summer Birthday Bash

The end-of-year party is Tuesday. Thank you Ms. Wong for all of your efforts in making it a great party! If your child has a summer birthday (May 23-August 10), please feel free to send in birthday treats for them on this day. We will celebrate each child throughout the day. We also need some supplies:

bottled water
plates
napkins
paper towels
plastic forks

Anything you can send in will help!

Last Week of School

The learning is not yet complete this year. The students have a final roots test on 1-100 on Wednesday and a final grammar test on Tuesday. There will also be a final Oz project (in class) and a history essay on a president (in class). There will also be a discussion on virtues and how the students can follow them during the summer.

Yearbook Signing

On Thursday, we will have a yearbook signing event. Students can have their yearbooks signed by friends and staff. If your child did not order a yearbook, we will make one for them here at school, so they can partake in the fun.

Final Grades

Final grades will be available June 10th. This quarter, there are no written evaluations, just grades.

Thank you and remember, only 86 days until school begins!!!!!

5/11/15

Thank you for the wonderful cards during the week. I love reading the funny anecdotes from the students.

Today, we had a long discussion about finishing strong. While there may only be 11 days remaining, we still have assessments in history, science, math, grammar, and literature. We also have a normal schedule of curriculum until the 21st.

In Language Arts, students will continue following Dorothy on her adventures in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. I invite you to come in and watch a discussion. Students will discuss virtues and how they can attribute them to the characters and to their own lives.

In math, students will continue to review their skills in modeling. We will also spend extensive time ensuring that all have a full mastery of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and modeling.

History will cover the first seven Presidents..

SUPPLIES NEEDED

Tissues

The year is winding down! Only two more Monday's after today. We still have a lot to accomplish.

In Language Arts, students will continue following Dorothy on her adventures in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. I invite you to come in and watch a discussion. Students will work on a three paragraph essay as well as continuing their study of diagramming complex sentences.

In math, students will review their skills in modeling. There will be no runway, however, as these are mathematic models. We will also spend extensive time ensuring that all have a full mastery of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and modeling.

History will cover the Constitution and the early presidents.
