History: Students will continue the unit on Europe in the middle ages. Students will read about the great kings and powerful queens of the middle ages. Next, a view into the first true formalized system of government: Parliament. The tie-in’s begin to be seen as we discuss the fact that wars require money, and money means tax. This is a precursor to our unit on the American Revolution. The unit covers a true middle ages hero: Joan of Arc. After that we read about the end of the middle ages, as the Black Death makes its way through Europe.

Science: Students will embark upon a unit on predator/prey relationships, environments, and habitation. Next, students enter a unit on the biomes of Arizona. Who knew that in our state were so many different biomes. Amazing! The quarter ends with meteorology. There will be many activities.
