View into Class the coming weeks:

History:  Students will study the American Revolution, starting with the 13 colonies and the colonists. They will begin to learn a bit more about life as a colonist, and this will lead into a discussion about the rights of Englishmen. 

Science:  Students will continue the study of geology. They will study layers and move into  plate tectonics, including the theory of Pangaea, and earthquakes, and tsunamis. They will also create volcanoes.

Language Arts: Spalding phonics continues. In grammar, students will continue the classifying and diagramming of sentences.  In Literature, students will read Prince Caspian.

Math: Students will continue a unit on geometry. They will then move on to decimals!

View into Class the coming weeks:

History: Students embark on a multi-week study of the history of Arizona, starting with its geography and ancient peoples, then exploring how it became a state. The second week goes over historical people and groups of Arizona. 

Science:  Students will study geology. They will begin their study by learning that the earth is composed of different layers. They will move on to studying about why tectonic plates move and the three types of boundaries. During week 2, scholars will continue their look at plate tectonics, including the theory of Pangaea, and earthquakes. 

Language Arts: Spalding phonics continues. In grammar, students will continue the classifying and diagramming of sentences. They will write their first three-paragraph essay of the semester.  In Literature, students will read Prince Caspian.

Math: Students will begin a unit on geometry. They will then move on to decimals!
