Language Arts: In language arts, students embark on a new adventure with Rip Van Winkle. They will also write a 3 paragraph essay comparing the Wizard of Oz movie to the book. In Spalding there will be more words and more markings. 

Science:  Students will complete the respiratory unit this week. Then, they will spend time preparing for the unit exam. Each student has a copy of the completed study guide and should be referencing that each night in preparation for the exam. The exam will take place on Friday. 

History: The students will complete the early presidents unit.


Math: In math this week, the students will complete the measurements unit. There is a test and a quiz. After that, students will review what they have learned over the course of the year.

We are in the home stretch!

Over the last 3 weeks:

History: Students will complete the unit on early presidents. They will work on presidential profile packets. The year ends with discussions about American history.

Language Arts: In Literature, students will complete the reading of The Wizard of OZ, and take part in a viewing of the movie. This will tie into a writing project wherein the students will compare the movie to the book. In Spalding, there will be words and markings. Over the last two weeks, students will read Rip Van Winkle.

Science: Students will continue working in the respiratory unit over the last 3 weeks of school.

Math: Students will continue their data processing unit, and finish with a measurement unit.
