Lessons

History: Students will continue to look at the development of the U.S. Constitution. Last week they learned why some Virginia delegates wanted to scrap the Articles of Confederation and create something new. This week, they will learn how the founders sought to keep the government from becoming too powerful through checks and balances, the process of its ratification, and why the Consitution is still used today.

Language Arts: Though this is a short week, the students will resume their regular study of Spalding. Students will start their journey with Dorothy to see the Wizard of Oz. For grammar, students will spend some time reviewing diagramming and classifying sentences, and at the end of the week, they will do this through a challenge.

Math: In math, students will be introduced to equations for linear graphing. There is a test scheduled for Thursday.

Science: In science, students will continue their study of the circulatory system. Students should by now have the heart and flow of blood memorized. This week, students will learn about pulse, blood pressure, what makes up blood, the role of the liver and spleen, and why there are different types of blood.
