CHIVALRY WEEK
This week we will continue to discuss
the community aspect of our classroom and our school. This will lay the
foundation for relationships and cooperation in the classroom. We will foster
an attitude of pride in our classroom and in or school.
Below is a breakdown of what we will be
doing in class this week:
Language arts- We will conclude our reading of Pollyanna. On Friday we will have a discussion about the theme and the elements of the story. Students will also be able to share their thoughts and ideas. This has been a very enjoyable book.
Grammar- We will continue our
work in the Shurley Grammar book, covering prepositions and prepositional phrases,
and diagramming.
History/Geography – We will continue our study of Europe in the Middle Ages. This week is Chivalry Week. Knights and ladies will live out the Code of Chivalry (at least on a fourth grade scale). There will be poetry, readings, and activities all week. There is a test on Thursday.
Science–This week we conclude
our study of geology. We will complete our study on weathering, erosion and
soil. There is a test on Friday.
