Last week’s class motto was: Back to Basics
This week’s class motto is: On Task,
On Time
This week we will discuss the importance
of always being on task during the day. I will explain to students that being “on
task” means following directions, working diligently, and working hard. We will
also discuss the importance of meeting deadlines and turning in work on time.
BOX TOPS
It is that time again as we will
attempt to hit 5000 Box Tops this quarter!
We are in need of the following supplies: tissues, whiteboard
erasers, lined loose-leaf paper
Below is a breakdown of what we will be
doing in class this week:
Language Arts- We will continue reading The Magician’s Nephew. Queen Jadis is in London and she is poised to conquer planet Earth. How will Digory and Polly react to this situation? Will Uncle Andrew show confidence? These questions will be answered during the week.
Take some time and discuss the book with your child. They are
really enjoying it and have much to say during class. There will be a lot of
difficult vocabulary associated with this book. Please review your child’s
vocabulary each night.
Grammar- We will continue to
classify and diagram sentences with direct objects. This is also a GYV week.
Ask your child to show you a diagram.
History/Geography – We continue our trip through Arizona. This week we look at the birds of Arizona as well as the reptiles of Arizona. This really is exciting!
Science–This week we continue
our study of matter and students will even learn about atoms. Students will be
assessed on Friday. Please look for notes on Monday.
