This week’s class motto is: Back to Basics

This week we will continue to discuss going back to basics. This means getting back to the basic classroom rules, the foundations of the class, and the organizational plan. After such a long break, it takes a couple of weeks to recharge and get back to the expectations of the class.

We are in need of tissues and loose leaf paper.

Below is a breakdown of what we will be doing in class this week:

Language Arts- We will continue reading The Magician’s Nephew.  This story has already gripped the attention of the students. We will continue to follow Polly and Digory as they venture into new worlds. This book is rich with vocabulary and character traits. There will be a lot of difficult vocabulary associated with this book. Please review your child’s vocabulary each night.

Grammar- We will continue to classify and diagram sentences with direct objects. This is also a GYV week.

History/Geography – We continue our trip through Arizona. This week we look at animals and also review the rivers and lakes.

Science–This week we continue our study of matter and students will even learn about atoms.
